The bedspreads blanket create a clean finished look to the bedroom, covering the sheets, blankets or duvet beneath. They can be made to fit the top sides of the bed, with piping to sit neatly around and a gathered skirt falling down the three sides to just off the floor. The skirt could be flat and straight with contrast colour on the piping and bottom edge. Kick pleat corners and a little movement in the fabric will give a smart finish. A valance is not required if the skirt is full length.

Bed throws are usually made from one width of fabric, which sit across the base of the bed and falls halfway down each side. If they are to be folded, either self-lined or contrast lined, to complete the look. A light interliner on finer fabrics gives a more luxurious finish. The fabrics used can be complimentary to window dressings and cushions, or contrast as faux fur, leather or kilim fabrics give added texture. Trims can be added to the ends as an extra detail.
