LUXURY BED VALANCES

Jackie Blackman create made to measure bed valances which are beautifully made by our experienced team of high-quality craftsmen and women based in St. Albans and across Hertfordshire. Our team create valances for all styles and sizes of bed, from the standard single or classic double, to king-size, queen, or emperor sized beds.

Our handmade valances for beds have lined fabric skirts that hang from a piped edge that sits on the three edges of the bed. The centre of the valance is made of lining only, as the top mattress covers this. Our made to measure bed valances have kick pleat corners, pleats halfway up the sides, and borders finished with a lining centre and fabric top for that perfect, luxury finish.

The top of the valance has a fabric edging joining the piping, making a cohesive look. The corners of the valance have kick pleats on single and double beds, whilst queen, king and super-king have kick pleats halfway up the sides too. Divan beds with drawers underneath also need kick pleats with hidden splits to allow access to the drawers. Bolted divans require a kick pleat in the centre of the base where the two mattresses join.

The fabric for bed valances in usually a cut chenille or sturdy linen and often in a plain colour to compliment the other fabrics used in the room on the other soft furnishing such as curtains, blinds cushions and bedspreads. We find that our bespoke valances for beds really finish off the look of a bed, and indeed the room, and give that luxury visual feel to your space.
