Our box cushions are made to sit on top of a window seat or bench seating, and these can often be found built-in or located beneath a standard or bay window. They can be both practical when utilising a bench seat with storage, and a stylish and modern look for additional or incidental seating.

Our window seat bench cushions have become incredibly popular over the last few years and are always made to the highest specification. Our window seat cushions are made from fire retardant foam, and they are normally made with 3” or 2” inners. The making of any size of window seat cushion or bench seat cushion is possible with our expert team, and this includes both bay seats and end of bed bench seats, and also cushion pads and stool seats.

Bespoke Box Seat Cushions

The area requiring the cushion needs a paper template to have an accurate shape for construction. This can be carried out on a pre-arranged site visit from one of our team who can visit across Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, London and the Home Counties. Our cushions are normally piped top and bottom, either self-piped (same as cushion fabric) or contrast piped for added definition. The rear boxing has a zip inserted to allow the cover to be removed. There is no zip in deep button cushions, they will need dry cleaning only. If the cushion is an even shape, side to side and back to front, it can be used in reverse, giving a longer lifetime for the item. For a softer look, feathers can be used as the filling. Over time, if used frequently, the feathers will break down and require replacing and the shape of the cushion will distort, but this can be easily addressed with a visit from one of our team.

Jackie Blackman also make box seat cushion pads for dining room chairs. These can breathe new life into your old dining room chairs and are made at our base in St. Albans, Hertfordshire, usually with 2” fire retardant foam and again shaped to the design of the seat. These would also be piped at the top and bottom and often have matching ties to hold the cushion to the back of the chair.
