Mansion House Apartment Drawing Room Curtains
From our workrooms in St. Albans, Hertfordshire, we produce handmade, lined and interlined triple pleat (three folds) luxury curtains as standard for our clients. We would always recommend using blackout lining for all bedrooms, whether you are opting for curtains or blinds.
In addition, alternative curtain heading styles include double pinch pleat which have two folds, and inverted pleat which means the fullness of the widths is at the back of the curtain and gives a more modern simple heading, without losing the luxury finish. There are also cartridge headings which have straight tube pleats and finally wave headings which flow evenly from front to back. As professional curtain makers with 40 years’ experience, we have vast experience of all curtain finishes and are happy to advise on what may work best for your project.
With all our clients, we are happy to recommend fabric choices, whether you are considering silk, linen, cotton, or a combination of natural and synthetic properties. The Style of curtain often varies depending on the individual project as the curtains could be for straight windows or bays, be long and slim, or several metres in width. We understand that every job is different, individual and bespoke.
The style of fabric for the curtains is a primary consideration with every client and careful thought is given to the location setting and look you are trying the achieve. This may be an ultra-modern new build, with glass walls and doors, or a beautiful Georgian townhouse with old wood-panelled rooms. It is often the case that less light often means more history, however either way, luxurious curtains and careful consideration of the fabric choice will always be the finishing touch to any room.
As professional curtain makers in St. Albans, many of our projects involve bay windows and we have vast experience in this area. Deciding how to design and fit your bay window curtains can be somewhat tricky, however our experts will guide you through the best options with regards to style and fitting options. There are lots of bay window curtain ideas that we can incorporate into your room, whether it is a bespoke pole, ceiling fitted track or a stylish bespoke bay curtain pelmet, we will be able to advise you to obtain the optimum finish with a luxurious feel.
Complimentary to curtains are pelmets, swags & tails and fabric facias. In many cases the setting requires a smart finish to the heading. Following installation, all our curtains are hand dressed, and are then left to settle for a couple of days for maximum impact.
Creating a stylish heading and completing the look can be a flat, wadded pelmet, a stepped pelmet, or a simple fabric covered lathe which hides the track behind. Swags and tails are considered the height of luxury and are a fantastic way to complete the look of the overall window. Swags are intricately made and require professional tailoring by one of our experienced seamstresses from our workrooms in St. Albans, Hertfordshire. These could be traditional in style, with matching contrast lined tails, trimmed with tassel fringe or for a modern twist one swag and no tails. These can be made from fabric or voile and really transform the window and the overall look of the space.
